1. Report what you observed

• Describe what you personally saw or recorded.
• Separate direct observation from guesses, later research and other people’s accounts.
• Use the most accurate time and location you can provide.
• Correct honest mistakes when they are identified.

2. Do not manufacture a mystery

Do not submit hoaxes, edited evidence presented as original, staged events, copied reports, fabricated corroboration or information you know is false. Unexplained means not yet explained; it does not mean extraordinary claims have been proven.

3. Protect privacy

• Avoid publishing exact homes, workplaces or sensitive locations.
• Remove or obscure recognisable faces, registrations and private conversations where appropriate.
• Do not name witnesses without permission.
• Never use the archive to track, expose or intimidate another person.

4. Upload evidence responsibly

Only upload files you created or have permission to share. Preserve original files where possible. Do not upload malware, unlawful material, graphic harm, sexual content, or media that exploits a child or vulnerable person.

5. Discuss cases, not people

Challenge evidence and explanations respectfully. Harassment, threats, hate, discriminatory abuse, dogpiling and personal attacks are not allowed. Do not accuse a person or organisation of wrongdoing without reliable evidence and a lawful basis.

6. Automated analysis is a tool

AI-generated analysis and confidence information are contextual aids. They can be wrong and must not be presented as verified identification, scientific proof or a judgement about a witness’s honesty.

7. Moderation

Content may be labelled, limited, anonymised or removed to protect safety, privacy and archive integrity. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to account restrictions. Report a concern through Support and include the case number and reason.
